Selling cards at the counter

Use the point-of-sale till in the mobile app to sell a card, print the slip, close the shift, and undo a sale without losing stock or money.

The counter till lives in the manager mobile app. A clerk taps a product, one card leaves stock, and a slip prints on a small Bluetooth receipt printer.

Before the first sale

  • The clerk's manager account needs the sell at the counter permission. It is never included in a ready-made role; grant it on purpose under Roles & Permissions.
  • There must be something to sell: either printed cards in a series the clerk owns, or a card template the clerk can use. A template tile mints a fresh card on the spot when there is no stock.
  • Pair the receipt printer in the app once.

Making a sale

Tap a product tile, choose the quantity, confirm. The app takes a card from stock first and only mints a new one when stock is empty. The slip prints with the code, the plan and the valid-until date.

Cards minted at the counter are valid for a number of days from the sale, 30 by default. Change it in the point-of-sale settings; 0 means the card never expires. A card sold from printed stock keeps the date its series gave it.

Where the money moves

A card costs the manager when it is created — when a series is generated, or when the till mints one. Selling it at the counter moves no money in the panel: the cash goes into the drawer, and the wallet was already charged. That is why a counter sale and a wallet charge never appear for the same card.

Shifts

Every sale belongs to the clerk's open shift. Closing the shift totals it, so the cash in the drawer can be checked against the cards that left. Shift reports stay in the app and in the panel's reports.

Undoing a sale

The clerk can undo their own sale for 60 seconds after it, and the cards go back to stock. The countdown in the app is shorter on purpose; the server allows the full minute. After that, or for another clerk's sale, undo needs the separate void permission. A sale in a closed shift cannot be undone.

If it did not work

  • "Busy, try again" is not "out of stock". Another sale took the same card at the same moment; tap again.
  • The slip did not print. The sale is complete; reprint it from the sale. Do not sell a second card to get a slip.
  • A tile is missing. The clerk cannot see that template or series. Check who owns it and whether it is shared with the clerk.
  • A sold card is rejected at login. Check the card's own valid-until date, not the series.
