Reseller balances day to day
Deposits, withdrawals, debt limits and debtors, and how each activation moves money between a reseller, their parent and the subscriber.
Each reseller has a wallet. This page is about keeping those wallets right day to day. How the reseller tree and roles work is in Resellers, wallets and roles.
Depositing into a reseller
Open the manager and choose Deposit. The money leaves your wallet and enters theirs in one step, and both sides are written at once, so the two balances can never disagree. A manager receipt is issued automatically and appears under Manager receipts.
Withdrawing
Withdraw moves money back up from a reseller's wallet. It issues a manager invoice, listed under Manager invoices.
Debt limits
A debt limit is how far below zero a reseller's wallet may go.
- Empty means no limit at all.
- Zero means no debt: the reseller is refused the moment the wallet is empty.
Resellers below zero are listed under Debtors — Managers.
How an activation moves money
When a reseller activates a subscriber, the plan's wholesale price comes out of the reseller's wallet. The subscriber's retail price is between the reseller and the subscriber.
If the subscriber has not paid yet, the reseller unticks money collected. The reseller is still charged; the subscriber now owes the retail price, listed under Debtors — Subscribers. When the subscriber pays, record the payment on their page and the debt clears.
Reading the books
- Manager journal — every movement on every wallet, with both sides and who did it.
- Money transfers — deposits and withdrawals between managers.
- Profits — what was earned on activations and card sales over a period.
A mistaken movement is corrected with a reverse entry, never by deleting the original. Both stay visible.
If it did not work
- "Insufficient balance" with money in the wallet. The operation costs more than balance plus debt limit. Check the limit, especially a zero one.
- A deposit does not show in the reseller's balance. Check you deposited into the right manager; the journal shows the receiving side.
- The debtors list looks wrong. Subscriber debt only appears when money collected was unticked at activation.
