What you worry about, and what actually happens
Your subscribers
Every subscriber comes across with their username, password, plan, expiry date and remaining quota. We tested it on a real backup, and subscribers signed in with their old passwords with nobody re-registering.
Your resellers' money
The reseller tree comes across with its balances, along with money operations and activation history. At the end you get a report of what came across and what did not.
Your work during the move
The move runs from the backup file, and your SAS4 keeps running as it is. The import runs in the background, so you keep working in the panel. Subscribers switch over when you change the RADIUS address in the router, not before.
If you want to go back
You can export your data from X-Radius to SAS4 format at any time. Nothing locks you in.

You take the standard SAS4 backup and upload it to your account. The move runs in the background, picks up where it stopped if it is interrupted, and ends with a reconciliation report.

A real SAS4 v4.56 backup of about 17 million rows, uploaded to a test account. The migrated subscribers then signed in through FreeRADIUS over CHAP with their old passwords.

Questions we get asked a lot
Which SAS4 versions can you move?
We tested it on a v4.56 backup, and other 4.x backups are expected to work. Send us yours and we will try it on a test account first, away from your network.
Will subscribers need new passwords?
No. Passwords come across as they are, and we checked that subscribers sign in with them after the move.
How long does the move take?
It runs in the background, so you keep working in the panel while it runs.
What changes on my MikroTik?
Only the RADIUS server address and secret. If you also want the tunnel and remote access, run the connect script from your panel.
Can I go back to SAS4?
Yes. Export a SAS4-format backup from X-Radius at any time.
Is X-Radius built on SAS4 code?
No. No PHP source code was copied — only schema, FreeRADIUS config, and high-level directory layout were inspected.
